Looking after your feet

It's important to look after your feet, no matter how mobile you are.

Your feet take the weight of your whole body, so foot problems can quickly lead to discomfort and affect the way you walk. This can in turn cause knee, hip and back pain.

If you're over 60, foot care becomes even more important. Problems with your feet can stop you getting out and about, affect your balance and increase the risk of falls, take a look at our falls prevention section.

It's important to seek medical help form your GP if you have painful feet, or any other foot problems.

The NHS offer information on how to look after your feet if you have diabetes.

Age UK also provide useful information on how to look after your feet and avoid falls.

Wye Valley NHS Trust also offer a local podiatry service.
