Whether you lose a partner, parent, child, friend or colleague to suicide it can be an overwhelming and difficult time. Yet, when someone takes their own life, those affected and bereaved have less chance of receiving support from friends and family. We have therefore complied some useful resources and services to support those experiencing, or supporting someone, through this bereavement.

 Victim Support provide a suicide bereavement service available to residents of Hereford aged 4 and above. They offer free, confidential, practical and emotional support and relevant signposting. Support is accessible at any point during someone’s bereavement journey.

Cruse Bereavement Care offer free, counsellor led, 1-1 and peer support groups in Herefordshire and Worcestershire for people bereaved by suicide.

Pheonix Bereavement Support provide a free specialist service in Herefordshire for children, young people (5-25) and their families when a family member or someone else close to them dies.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBs) offer a national help line and a multitude of online resources for adults bereaved by suicide. They help individuals support each other, at the time of their loss and in the months and years that follow.

Suicide&Co support those bereaved by suicide, offering one-on-one professional support through talking therapies, their Counselling Service and Helpline, staffed by bereavement counsellors. While also offering a free self-support app called Sidekick providing general mental health exercises, and personalised suicide bereavement specific resources.

Winston’s Wish provides emotional and practical bereavement support to children, young people (up to 25) and those who care for them. They offer one off and ongoing bereavement support and we also provide online resources, specialist publications and training for professionals.

Support After Suicide Partnership offers a comprehensive online tool kit for anyone affected by suicide or supporting someone else. They offer resources, stories and a local support directory.
