Help with childcare costs

Childcare can be costly. Help with childcare costs may be available to you – find out what support you can get below.

Herefordshire Council provide information on the different childcare funding options available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, along with how to check if you’re eligible, how you can use your free childcare hours and what to expect from your childcare provider.

The Government’s Childcare Choices offer useful information on the help available to pay for your childcare and finding the right offer for you and your family, whether you have a toddler or a teenager. This includes information on 30 hours free childcare for eligible working families and 15 hours free childcare for those on certain benefits, dependant on the child’s age.

Our Here for Herefordshire Holiday’s programme also offers a range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities, as well as a healthy meal on offer at every session attended, to all school aged children 5 to 16 (reception to Year 11), who are eligible for benefit related free school meals. The programme is funded by the Department for Education and is completely free to families, usually runs throughout Easter, summer and winter term times.

The Government’s Help for Households campaign also provides lots of information on what support your family may be eligible for.
