Have you heard about the Herefordshire Safe Places Scheme?

A Safe Place is somewhere where vulnerable people can go for help and support, if they feel upset or threatened, when they're out and about in Herefordshire.

There are currently over 50 Safe Places located across the county, including Bromyard, Hereford, Kington, Ledbury, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and Yarpole, ranging from local shops and businesses to churches and libraries.

The local scheme has now been extended to include a handy mobile app, which enables you to see all of the locations, when you’re away from home.  Herefordshire Mencap has worked in partnership with Our Way, a Kidderminster based self advocacy organisation, to include all of the Herefordshire information onto the My Town Worcestershire app.

The app is available for Android devices and is free to download from the Google Play Store.  When you’re in the app, simply select the ‘Safe Place’ button, which will then show you a list of towns, so you can choose where you want to go and enjoy your visit, safe in the knowledge that there’s places you can go to for help, should you need it.
