If you’re looking for something to keep you and your family occupied this Easter Holidays, we’ve got you covered!  Below is a list of fun activities and events taking place across Herefordshire this Easter.

Activities


Coningsby Children's Centre, Leominster - Easter fun

Tuesday 4 April, 1pm to 2.30pm

Join for some creative Easter fun, at Coningsby Children's Centre in Leominster.  Suitable for 0 to 5 year olds.  No booking required.

Cup Ceramics - kids pottery sessions

Saturday 8 April, 11.30am and 1pm

Get your hands mucky as you design, create and decorate using techniques taught during the session. There's a session for age 5+ at 11.30am and one for age 10+ at 1pm.  Cost is £20, which includes materials, glaze and kiln firing.

Eardisland Village Hall - Easter egg hunt and afternoon tea

Saturday 8 April, Easter egg hunt from 1pm to 2pm; tea is 2pm to 5pm

With teas, coffees and cake on sale; and an Easter egg hunt which is £2 per child.  Afternoon tea costs £10 per person, with all things scrumptious.  There is free parking at the village car park and village hall.

Easter Egg Hunts at Brockhampton

Saturday 1 April to Sunday 16 April, 10am to 4pm

From butterflies to blossom, woodpeckers to wildflowers. This spring, treat your little ones to a world of adventures at Brockhampton on the Easter egg hunt, solving puzzles and completing activities on the trail.  Find nature-inspired activities for the whole family, exploring the beautiful orchards of Brockhampton.  The price of the trail is £3 per child and includes an activity sheet, paper bunny ears, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end.

Easter in Hereford

Saturday 8 April, 11.30am to 3pm

Join the City Life team for a fun, free afternoon of Easter-themed activities and live music from local bands.  There's a free colourful Woven Easter Egg workshop from Make-it Happen Creative Dreams for children to enjoy.  No booking required, just turn up at the gazebo in High Town to get started (children to be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times).  There's also an exciting Easter Egg Hunt trail running on this date (and until 16 April).  Explore the city finding the hidden Augmented Reality eggs in local businesses before collecting your own real Easter egg as a prize to take home.  The team from Hotel Chocolat will be joining in, to hand out tasty samples of their Easter chocolates.

Eastnor Castle – Coronation Chicken Easter Treasure Hunt

Friday 7 April to Monday 10 April

Visit Eastnor Castle for an interesting and fun-filled family day out. Enjoy the Coronation Chicken Easter Treasure Hunt as we look forward to a new monarch being crowned!  Find clues around the castle and grounds and hand in your entry for a chocolate Malteaster Bunny treat at the end.  Children of all ages can have endless fun in the usual attractions too, including the Adventure Playground, Knight’s Maze and Junior Obstacle Course.

Eastnor Castle – Runaround days

11 April to 13 April, from 10.30am to 4pm

Let off some steam in the school holidays at Eastnor Castle, on one of their runaround days!  Adults: £14 and Children: £8 (grounds only admission).

Halo holiday activities

Various dates.

There's free learn to swim sessions and indoor soft play fun at Halo centres across the county, and a gymnastics holiday day camp at Hereford Leisure centre (£25/day).  Visit the Halo website for what's on where.  Giving children the opportunity to meet and make friends with other local children, discover new interests, explore and try out new sports and activities, and stay fit and healthy.

Hereford Cathedral - Easter Messy Church

Monday 3 April from 12pm to 3pm

Take part in a day of Easter fun at Hereford Cathedral with a selection of crafts and activities for all the family to take part in. A free drop-in event with no pre-booked required.  Children must be accompanied by an adult; grown-ups are welcome to get involved in all of the activities.

Hereford Cathedral - Escape Room

Thursday 13 and Friday 14 April

Solve the Escape Room, an immersive clue-cracking and decoding game, hosted in the Old Chapel in the Cloisters, in 1890!  Can you prove that you are innocent, and be released from the Old Chapel?  You have just one hour to work out who has committed the crime. Suitable for groups of up to six people, costing £60 total per session (for ages 11+), though groups of under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Get a team together and book a session to test your skills.

Hereford Cathedral – Spring Towers Tour

Various dates.

Feel the adventure, get to the top, get the certificate.  Adventurous visitors can climb the 218 steps of the Hereford Cathedral tower, for some of the finest views of the city and county of Herefordshire, and beyond.  Tours include the Lantern Gallery and Ringing Chamber, with a set of panoramic interpretation boards at the very top.  Children must be accompanied by an adult and it's recommended the climb is only suitable for children aged 8 or over.  Cost: £6 for adults, £3 for children under 16.  Tickets available in the Cathedral Shop (no pre-booking).  

Herefordshire Libraries – Earthwords, Ledbury Young Poets Workshops

Monday 3, Wednesday 5, Thursday 13 and Friday 14 April

Calling 11-18 year olds, for a very special poetry writing workshop, with leading poet Jonny Fluffypunk!  At libraries across Herefordshire.  Ledbury Poetry have launched an exciting poetry competition, 'Earthwords'.  The competition gives young poets the opportunity to explore the natural world and our precious environment through poetry.  These workshops focus on themes to support the competition entry and help enhance writing skills in a fun and relaxed environment.  Booking is essential through the libraries Eventbrite page.

Hereford Library - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Tuesday 4 April at 10.30am

Free craft activities and a special live reading of an excerpt of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, at Hereford Library. Get lost in the mystical land of Narnia, as during a game of hide-and-seek, Lucy ventures into an old wardrobe, only to find that a magical kingdom lies on the other side.  Run by The Courtyard at Hereford Library.  All ages welcome! Free to attend. No booking required.

Little Notes Music Club

Monday 3 April, Wednesday 5 April, Thursday 13 April and Friday 14 April, starts at 10am

Join Gemma at Withington Village Hall for the Little Notes Music Club, open for four days during the Easter holidays.  It costs £5 for children.  Older siblings are most welcome (£1 each).  The sessions are aimed at the under fives.

LoyalFree and Talk Community - egg-cellent easter egg hunt in Leominster and Ross-on-Wye

Friday 31 March to Sunday 16 April

A free family-friendly trail that's set to revolutionise the traditional Easter Egg Hunt with the use of augmented reality technology.  Explore along Leominster and Ross-on-Wye high street to hunt for ‘eggstra-ordinary’ Easter eggs hidden at various locations.  Simply find the posters, scan the markers, and witness an Easter egg appear right before your eyes! Complete the trail by finding all of the eggs and scanning each marker by Sunday 16 April to be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win some prizes!

Marden Easter Egg Trail

Saturday 1 to Saturday 15 April

Pick up your trail sheet from Marden Village Stores and Post Office, for £1 per child. Then follow the map and find the eggs to win a prize!

Newbridge Farm Park

Saturday 1 April to Saturday 15 April (closed on Sundays 2 and 9 April)

Lots of indoor and outdoor play, and a free Egg Hunt for all children (with a prize).  There’s tractor rides, zipwire and swings, go karts and haybarn with rope swings.

Queenswood, Leominster – The Narnia Trail

Saturday 1 April to Sunday 16 April

Can you help find the magical items lost in Queenswood this Easter holiday?  Complete the magical trail, and return to the visitor centre to collect a special bookmark.  You can also join in a fun drop-in session with the wonderful WildPlay team on Monday 3 April between 10am and 12pm, with Narnia activities.  Make a white witch's wand, mix your own healing cordial or create an Aslan mask.

Small Breeds Animal Farm and Owl Centre, Kington

Discover the animals at the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre.  Set in a glorious rural environment you have a unique opportunity for a close encounter with many rare, miniature and very special friendly animals.  Open every day during the Easter holidays, 10.30am – 5pm – no booking required.  The ‘hands-on’ experience is actively encouraged and you may wish to feed some of them with our specially formulated food.  Adults: £11.00, Children £7.50 – under 2 year olds go free.

The Courtyard Theatre – Easter Family Rave

Saturday 8 April

What better way to spend your Easter than bunny hopping along to all your favourite tunes, so bring your crew and join in the egg-cellent party full of bubbles and balloons!  Dressing up is encouraged from everyone!  Suitable for all ages, ear defenders for tiny people are recommended.

The Courtyard Theatre - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Wednesday 12 April to Saturday 15 April

The Courtyard Junior Youth Theatre present a brand-new production of CS Lewis’ timeless tale, featuring original music and spectacular costumes.  A family show that entertains audiences of all ages!  Join in the journey to a magical kingdom where Lions can talk and Fauns make tea.

The Courtyard Theatre - Vinland Viking Adventure

Wednesday 5 April, 7pm to 8pm

A Viking storytelling adventure for ages 8 and up. Come face to face with ghosts, monsters and wild gooseberries, as the show sets sail with Freydis and her son Snorri on a Viking adventure, brought to life through storytelling, animation, and live music.  A show that brings the audience into a world where myth and history collide.  Tickets cost £15.

The Waterworks Museum – Easter Steam Day

Sunday 9 April, 11am to 4pm

Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian waterworks with all steam and other engines working. There’s plenty for all the family too with children's activities including the Frog Trail, Firefighting quiz and Story of Water quiz. You can also learn about Hereford in World War Two in the Rotherwas exhibition.  Afterwards you can relax in our cafe or picnic in the grounds.

Three Counties Showground, Malvern – CountryTastic

Thursday 6 April, 10am to 5pm

An action-packed day of discovery with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities.  Farmyard friends, oodles of countryside fun, and animal, food and science-based interactive learning experiences, an unforgettable day out aimed at children aged 5-11 years old. There's even the amazing ‘dancing sheep’, impressive Pig Agility skills and ‘unicorn’ rides with the popular Pampered Ponies.  Young adventurers can get involved in wild activities such as den making, and wild detective skills, whilst aspiring chefs can learn about food and where it comes from, with workshops and cook-a-longs. There's arts and crafts too, a chance to make a corn dolly or hoolahoop. £10 per adult, £6 per 3–15-year-old, and free for under 2s.  Tickets to be bought before (none available at the gate).

Widemarsh Children's Centre - Easter fun

Wednesday 12 April, 10am to 12pm

Easter fun for 0 to 9 year olds, with arts, crafts and an egg hunt.
