We offer support to people and families, who might need a little extra help, whether that’s a short term one off or for the longer term.  Our help includes:

  • Food shopping
  • Food boxes
  • Cooking and providing a hot meal
  • Essential goods shopping
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Having someone to talk to
  • Dog walking (we will do our best!)
  • Looking after livestock

We also support our many local community groups, activities and Black Hill Community Radio, which are listed on our website.

Our community hub, run by C.A.R.E. (Herefordshire) CIC, is a friendly, warm and inviting venue, where you can meet old or new friends, get involved in a range of fantastic weekly activities and even join our community gym.

If you'd like wellbeing information or signposting to services, groups or activities taking place in and around Pontrilas or perhaps across the county, our fully trained, friendly volunteers can help.  Please note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, our hub is only available via telephone or e-mail, so please get in touch on 01981 240235 or sonya.cary@gmail.com.

Our Talk Community Hub is available every Tuesday to Thursday, between 11am and 3pm, whilst the Hub Café is open.

The Hub offers a range of activities for the Golden Valley community throughout the year.  It also provides wellbeing support and signposting assistance, which includes use of laptops to access online services, help to set up 1:1 support meetings, transport assistance, workshops, courses and events for people of all ages.  The Hub also houses a welcoming community café and a small community library.

In partnership with Peterchurch Parish Council and Peterchurch Village Hall, we're also currently providing a daily Covid-19 Helpline from 11am to 2pm on 01981 551143.  This is for local people who may need some additional support, assistance or simply want someone to talk to.
