Children with a hearing impairment (5 - 16 years old)
Herefordshire Council hearing impairment team provides specialist teaching and support for babies, children and young people up to 19 years of age (or 25 years for those young people who have an education, health and care plan) who have a significant hearing impairment.
Your child will usually be referred to Herefordshire Council's hearing impairment team by the Children's Hearing Centre. Occasionally schools or other professionals working with your child may need to make a referral. For information about diagnosis visit the children's hearing service section on the Wye Valley NHS Trust website.
For information about the support available in schools and settings for hearing impairment visit the educational support for children with a hearing impairment section on the Herefordshire Council website.
