Our Community Can launches in Herefordshire!

A new four year initiative, aimed at reducing social isolation across the county, has launched in partnership with ignite and Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire

The new Our Community Can initiative will support and empower individuals, groups and communities, particularly in rural areas, to establish physical and creative activities in their local area, to bring people together and help reduce social isolation and loneliness.

Our Community Can will work closely with community groups across Herefordshire, to help make their ideas and aspirations for local activities a reality.  As each community will have its own individual requirements, there won't be a one size fits all approach, but opportunities will be offered to:

• Understand community needs and motivations
• Network with other individuals and organisations
• Deliver taster sessions or events
• Support new local active and creative activities to become sustainable
• Train volunteers and group leaders
• Access potential funding
