WOW Grant
The aim of the WOW grant is to offer additional support to the residents of Herefordshire during the cost of living crisis, by enabling them to enjoy free community activities, a meal and access to signposting and information.
We are offering grants to organisations across the county to deliver a varied programme of activities aiming to help as many Herefordshire residents as possible.
There is a cost-of-living crisis in the UK resulting in unprecedented pressures on people already in poverty, people in Herefordshire will be forced to make tough decisions about when and what they eat, what they can do in life, and when they can afford to heat their home.
Grant funding is available as part of the Household Support Fund (HSF), to support community hubs and organisations across Herefordshire to provide sessions for residents, in greatest need. We invite you to expand your current offer, and provide additional sessions or events to support residents who may be feeling the pinch throughout winter.
Your offer must include the opportunity for residents to come together, access a meal, engage in activities and receive information which can support them. The activity must be free of charge to enable access to everyone.
The limit for the grant is £1500.00 per organisation and we would like the grant to benefit as many households as possible. Due to this ‘value for money’ will need to be considered in your application.
The grant funding is available to enable you to open up your facilities and extend your current offer at a time that is accessible to the community.
As part of the offer you will need to include a welcoming space, appropriate activities with a meal and a drink.
You will be expected to signpost and support attendees in accessing information and give guidance on how to get financial support.
Monthly reports will be required to show number of households attending, including number of dependants, the volume and the household composition.
- Cover any additional costs of heating and electricity used during your sessions
