May / June Half Term Activities in Herefordshire 2023

If you’re looking for ideas to help you and your family stay active and entertained during the Half Term, there's lots of different activities and events taking place across Herefordshire.

Brockhampton Butterflies and Bees Trail
Saturday 27 May to Sunday 4 June, between 10am and 4pm.

Brockhampton's orchards rely on butterflies, bees and other bugs to pollinate all of the fruit that grows.  Join in the fun and find out more about these incredible insects with games and puzzles to complete throughout the orchards. Trails are £3 each, with a prize included. Normal admission charges apply.

Dirty Feet CIC
Monday 29 May and Tuesday 30 May, from 10am to 3pm.

Parkour, breakdance and tricks @TheCore in Hereford. A place costs £20.  Booking is required through Dirty Feet Facebook (booking form to secure your space).

Halo Leisure Holiday Activities
Various dates.

There's free learn to swim sessions and indoor soft play fun at Halo centres across the county.  Visit the Halo website for what's on where.  Giving children the opportunity to meet and make friends with other local children, discover new interests, explore and try out new sports and activities, and stay fit and healthy.

Hereford Bowling Club – Junior bowls sessions
Saturday 27 May, 10am to 12pm.

Learn the basics of outdoor bowling and play lots of fun games!  Sessions are suitable for ages 8 to 17, and families are welcome to come along and play together.  All equipment is provided - please wear flat-soled shoes.  There’s plenty of seating indoors and outdoors so parents and guardians can stay if they wish.

Hereford Squash, Tennis and Racketball Centre - May half term tennis camp
Tuesday 30 May to Thursday 1 June.

Children will be put through their paces by qualified coaches from Tennis Hereford, using the state of the art facilities at the centre.  A great chance to see what the Hereford squash tennis and racketball centre do too.  It’s £40 per day, £110 per week. Recommended for ages 5 to 14.

Herefordshire Libraries - Wildplay sessions
Tuesday 30 May 10am to 12pm at Bromyard Library; Friday 2 June 10am to 12pm at Kington Library

Free drop in events, suitable for all ages.  Enjoy drop in crafts and get creative with nature.  All children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or carer.  At Bromyard and Kington libraries - there's no need to book, just drop in.

Newbridge Farm Park
Saturday 27 to Saturday 3 May (closed Sunday 28), between 10.30am and 4pm.

From tractor rides and treasure hunt, through to zipwires, climbing frames, go karts in the barn and hay bale tunnels. Loads of fun for kids this half term.  Tickets bookable through website.

Oaks Holiday Club
Open Tuesday 30 May to Friday 2 June 

The miniature worlds of Minibeast - themed days to add fun and excitement for children.  Opportunities for adventure, knowledge and skills for 4-13 year olds.  Full days (8.30am to 4pm) cost £25 (£22 for siblings).  Shorter days or sessions can be booked by the hour (£4.80/hour).  To book, email admin@oakschildrensgroup.org.uk

The Courtyard Theatre - Myths and Legends inclusive workshop
Wednesday 31 May, 10.30am to 3pm (or to 1pm for the half day)

Discover legendary tales in an inclusive workshop filled with fun arts activities.  All practitioners and staff are experienced in working with young people who may have special educational needs and/or disabilities.  The cost is £15 per participant, £7.50 for the half day.

Wild Adventue Club at Queenswood
Wednesday 31 May, 10am to 3pm

Discover the joy and freedom of being in nature at Queenswood - building and lighting campfires for cooking, learning bush craft skills, den building, hammock hanging and other nature-based activities.  For children aged 8 to 12, designed for unaccompanied children.  It's £25 per child, per day. Booking through Herefordshire Wildlife Trust website.
