It’s Carers Week – let’s make caring visible, valued, and supported

08 June 2022

This week, it’s Carers Week (6 – 12 June), an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.  It also helps those who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities, to identify as a carer and access much needed support.

Each year, the campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations, coming together to provide support for carers, run activities, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is.

We’re lucky in Herefordshire, to have some fantastic carer support organisations, along with so many amazing community groups and voluntary organisations, offering information and support.

However, we can all play our part, by listening, understanding and supporting what our county’s carers do and the challenges they face on a daily basis.  The value in little acts of kindness and support towards our carers, can never be underestimated.
