Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee this year, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom.

To celebrate this significant anniversary, an extended four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June will take place, with national and local events to recognise Her Majesty's 70-year reign.

National events over the bank holiday weekend include Trooping the Colour, Platinum Jubilee Beacon, Service of Thanksgiving, Platinum Party at the Palace, and The Big Jubilee Lunch.

Communities across Herefordshire will also be holding local celebrations, including lots of activities at libraries in the county.

If you're having a street party or big lunch for Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend make sure you add it to the Jubilee map and let everyone know! Add your event or find one near you on the Platinum Jubilee interactive map. The web page also contains lots of fun activities, templates, and downloadable recipes to help with your celebrations.

Want to hold your own event? The Big Jubilee Lunch is available for people up and down the UK to hold a celebration in a way that works for you or your community.  So whether you want to get together with your neighbours over a Big Lunch, or connect to other like-minded individuals through our events and networks, The Big Lunch website has the support and resources to help you. You can check out The Big Lunch map for public events nearest to you.

If you need help to promoting your event, you can upload events for FREE on the Talk Community Directory.

There’s also lots of ways to get creative, such as taking part in design a special crown as part of the Platinum Jubilee creative challenge.
